“We got the clean sheet”

Calum Ferrie made his first league start for the club in over two years at the weekend and helped the club to a 1-0 victory over Greenock Morton with a clean sheet.

Goalkeeper Calum was handed a start and spoke to DeeTV following the match, he said, “Sometimes games are a bit scrappy and I think it was a bit scrappy today but after last weeks result, three points and a clean sheet, it’s what you want. At the end of the day a result and three points.”

“Clean sheets aren’t just the goalkeeper and the defence”

Asked when he found out he would be starting, he said, “Just on Friday, I’ve been working away trying to get in the side, same as every other year.”

“Clean sheets aren’t just the goalkeeper and the defence. It’s the midfielders and the strikers. You could see towards the end of the game when they were going more direct, we had to be a solid unit. We got the clean sheet in the end and that got us the result.”

“From what we watched of them in previous game against Alloa, they do go quite direct and they do it well. They got a result against Alloa and it makes the game very difficult but I felt we dealt with it well. As a defensive unit we didn’t give up too many chances. I only had to make two saves and they were both pretty comfortable in the end.”

“The biggest thing in this league is momentum. We saw it last season with United, they got momentum and then built on it and we are hoping once you get the winning feeling around the club it’s does a lot for everyone.”

“There is a misconception that there are easy games in football. In reality there is never an easy game. Each individual team causes problems in different ways and the challenge is to deal with that and make sure you get results at the end of the day.”
