“The three points is massive for us”

Jordon Forster fired home his first goal for the club on Saturday in the 1-0 win over Queen of the South.

The match saw both teams having to contend with horrendous weather conditions on the artificial pitch at Palmerston and Jordon was delighted to come away with all three points.

He spoke to DeeTV following the match and said, “It was difficult conditions. I’m not going to lie, it was a horrible day for football, not much football was played in the grand scheme of things. The pitch isn’t brilliant but it’s the same for both teams.”

“It was a difficult test. They made it hard but I think we dealt with the conditions better than them on the day.”

Last weekend it looked like Jordon had opened his account for the club but Kane Hemmings turned in on the line to claim the goal against Partick Thistle, there was no doubt this week on who was claiming the goal, the defender said, “It’s been a long time coming. I’ve got a few assists this season from getting my head on the end of things. It’s just nice to get a goal and it’s probably the only goal I’ve ever scored with my left foot, in games or training, so that’s nice.”

“Three points and a clean sheet, the goal is an added bonus but just getting the three points is massive for us.”

“It took a nick but it’s my goal this week so no one is taking it off me.”

The team are now three unbeaten with a draw against Greenock Morton followed by victories and clean sheets against Partick and Queen of the South, Jordon said of the recent run, “You look at the last three games and we’ve become a lot harder to play against. We are working harder as a team. We are working for each other a lot more, we are pressing a lot better and we are just being a bit tougher to beat.”

“We were like that at the start of the season, I think we went on a great run of clean sheets but we came away from it a bit so it’s nice as a defender to get back to clean sheets. That’s two in a row and the draw at Morton as well so it’s a good couple of weeks but we’ve got a few really big games coming up. Quite a lot of fixtures in a short space of time so we need to be bang at it.”
