“The boys are ready and looking forward to it”

James McPake leads his Dundee side down the street on Friday night looking to build on an unbeaten start to the Ladbrokes Championship season.

Defeat in extra time of the Betfred Cup last 16 match to Premiership Aberdeen is the only time Dundee have been on the end of a loss since James took over on a permanent basis and barring one long term injury he has a full squad to choose for the trip to face Dundee United.

The manager spoke to the media ahead of the match and said, “We’re excited, It’s the first time this season I’ve got a full squad to choose from, Andrew Davies is still a long term absentee but everyone else is fit and healthy and it’s one we are really looking forward to.”

“Like any derby there is always and excitement because everyone in the city is talking about it.  We know it is sold out, it’s a game you look forward to. You look for it on the fixture list when it comes out, it’s one that gets the fans going.”

“There is a buzz about the place like every derby week but we’ve had to put that to the side and get on with our preparation and our work but the boys are ready and looking forward to it.”
