St Johnstone vs Dundee
18/5/25
3pm kick-off
William Hill Premiership
McDiarmid Park
Sunday is match day 38 in the Scottish Premiership as the last round of league fixtures are played. Dundee make the short trip to Perth for their last league game of the season. Dundee come into this match knowing that a win will secure their place in the Scottish Premiership for next season. Dundee were minutes away from doing that very thing on Wednesday night against Ross County, but a late penalty award meant that the outcome of who ends up in the relegation play-off position goes to the last day of the season, between Dundee and Ross County. Dundee currently lead County by two points going into this match, with County taking on Motherwell at home. The late award of the penalty on Wednesday also had implications for Sunday’s opponents St Johnstone. St Johnstone lost 1-2 away to Hearts but with Dundee winning they had a chance of moving off bottom place on the last day of the season, however the late County goal saw St Johnstone relegated to the Scottish Championship on Wednesday night. Although St Johnstone cannot move off bottom place now, they will come into Sunday’s match wanting to finish the season on a high in front of their supporters. For Dundee it is very simple, win and they are a Premiership team again for next season.
