Season So Far
Ross County had a tricky Betfred Cup group as their section was the only one with two Premiership sides and qualified as one of the best runners-up behind newly promoted Hibernian.
County’s opening match was a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Alloa with a goal either side of the break from Michael Fraser and Craig Curran.
Curran was target again in County’s second game when he scored a brace in a 6-0 win away at Montrose in their second game and it set up the all Premiership tie with Hibs in their third match.
In a tight encounter at the Global Energy Stadium, the sides were locked at 0-0 at full time but County got the advantage in the group when they won 4-3 on penalties to win the bonus point and make them favourites to top the group.
However they threw the advantage away at Gayfield when the drew 0-0 with Arbroath and despite getting their second bonus point with a 5-4 penalty kick win, the finished in second with Hibs winning 3-0 at Recreation Park.
Ten points was enough to see them qualify but the dropped point cost The Staggies being a seed in the next round and drew Motherwell in the last 16.

Last Meeting
Dundee earned a vital point in a 1-1 draw against Ross County last May in Neil McCann’s first match as interim manager at Dens Park. The Staggies dominated the early stages and were well worth their early lead from Liam Boyce’s goal. However, The Dee came back strongly and spent most of the second half laying siege to County’s goal. Captain Darren O’Dea equalised from the penalty spot before running into the South Enclosure in celebration but County then survived fierce pressure to take a point
