Ross County | Preview

We will look to build on our last two results as we are back in cinch Premiership action this Wednesday evening against Ross County at the Kilmac Stadium, kick off 7.45pm.

A win last time out at Dens against Aberdeen thanks to goals from Leigh Griffiths and Luke McCowan was followed up with a 1-1 draw at Tynecastle at the weekend.

County are still without a win this season in the league and have lost the last four on the bounce including 3-2 defeats at home to Livingston and St. Mirren.

Team News

Shaun Byrne will miss out, he will not require surgery but is expected to be out for 6-12 weeks. Alex Jakubiak also remains out through injury.

Stats | Dee Archive

In one of the youngest of our rivalries, we welcome Ross County to Dens Park with both clubs eager for the victory.

In 41 games in the league, it’s pretty even between the club’s with 13 wins for the Dee, 14 defeats and 14 draws.

Even the goals for and against are all square with 48 goals each.

It will be the 22nd time County have visited us in the league, and they hold the slight advance in the head to head stats with 8 wins to our 7.

With this fixture being relatively new compared to others, there are plenty of recent faces in the top appearance and goalscoring charts.

Robert Douglas holds the most appearances with 17. Paul McGowan sits in 4th place behind Gary Harkins and Gary Irvine with 12 appearances.

Rory Loy tops the goalscoring charts with 5 goals in 5 games. Leigh Griffiths can go joint top or better if he manages to score against County. He currently sits on 4 goals.

For our memory match from the website, we look back at our first ever home match against County.

It came in the Scottish Cup 4th round replay after a 1-1 draw in Dingwall and it was also Jocky Scott’s first home game back as manager for his second stint as gaffer.

The Dee made it through to the next round with a 3-0 victory and you can read all about it here.
