Ross County – Match Preview

Dundee v Ross County

Tuesday 24th October – 7:45pm Kick-Off

The Scot Foam Stadium at Dens Park

cinch Premiership

On Tuesday it will be 24 days since The Dee’s last competitive match which was the 0-0 draw away to Hibernian on Saturday 30th September. Ross County who come to The Scot Foam Stadium tomorrow have also not played a league match since 30th September. Tuesday’s match is the rearranged fixture which was postponed on 7th October due to a waterlogged pitch and the safety of travelling supporters.

County come into this match on seven points the same number as The Dee. They have accumulated these points after beating St Johnstone and Kilmarnock and picking up a point against Livingston. They have lost to Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and Hearts. County like The Dee will be looking at this match as an opportunity to take their points tally up into double figures and move up the league table. In their seven matches Malky Mackay’s side have scored six goals and conceded twelve.

The last time the two sides met was on 5th February 2022 in Dundee and it was a 2-1 victory for the visitors that day with The Staggies leaving with all three points.

Team News

Tony’s thoughts

“The players are really champing at the bit, we’ve not had a game since 30th September. But we need to remember after the Hibs game we had real momentum going forward, it was a really positive performance against Hibs away from home and prior to that we had a really positive performance going down to ten men against Kilmarnock and getting a point. So we need to maintain these performance levels and we need to maintain the momentum we had, although its been tough not having a game for three weeks, but I can’t praise the boys highly enough in terms of their training.”

Malachi Boateng

“We’ve had a few weeks to prepare for this one now so I am looking forward to it. From Ross County, we are expecting a hardworking team who are quite direct, so we’ve got to be ready for that. It’s been a good start, but we want to get a few more wins under our belts as well, which I’m sure will come.”
