Reserves continue good start

Dundee Reserves continued their fantastic start to the season with a 4-0 victory over Rangers at Links Park.

New signing Andy Boyle got his first taste of action in a Dundee shirt alongside Jean Alassane Mendy, Sofien Moussa and Elton Ngwatala who were substitutes against Motherwell on Saturday.

Ngwatala opened the scoring after 11 minutes with a lovely strike from the edge off the box which gave Rangers keeper Aidan McAdams no chance.

Dundee had the better of the first half and deservedly went in at half time infront but after the break it was the visitors who started in the ascendancy.

Despite having more of the ball Dundee remained organised at the back and slowly worked their way back into control.

Two goals in two minutes then killed the game as a contest.

Firstly, Sofien Moussa picked the ball up 30 yards from goal and hammered the ball into the top corner, again giving McAdams no chance.

Within a minute of the restart Brian Rice was fouled in the area and Mendy slotted home to make it 3-0.

Dundee then completely dominated the final stages, adding another when substitute Cedwyn Scott continued his prolific week.

The striker joined Berwick Rangers on Friday night and scored twice on his debut the following day. He replaced Moussa here and turned home Ngwatala’s pass with his first touch to make it 4-0.

The victory makes it 3 wins on the bounce to start the Reserve season.

Dundee – Jackson, Rodger, Rice, Bradbury, Boyle, Jefferies, Lambert, Moore, Moussa (Scott), Mendy (Henvey), Ngwatala (Anderson).

Unused Sub – Sharp.
