A young Dundee reserve side travelled to take on Queen’s Park in the cinch Reserve League. Queen’s Park went into the match at the top of the league table knowing that a draw or a win would see them win the cinch Reserve League. Dundee Reserves went into the match in fourth position on 10 points.

It was the home side that started the match brightly with chances through Fox and Hickey-Fugaccia. After 15 minutes Dundee had their first chance of the game through Graham who had a header saved by the keeper.

Welsh in the Dundee goal made an excellent save to deny Fiddes. Euan Mutale nearly opened the scoring for the Dee, a Sweenie-Rowe free-kick found Mutale who had a header but it came off the post.

The home side then had a few more chances before the end of the half but couldn’t find the net and the sides went into the break at 0-0. Dundee started off brightly, Mohammed played the ball into Allan who had a shot but it went wide of the post. However, it was Queen’s that opened the scoring in the 59th minute through Fox. He got a header on goal which beat Welsh in the goal.

Dundee started creating chances as they looked to get back into the game and in the 70th minute Mutale levelled for The Dee. He cut in from the wing and fired a shot across goal which hit the far post and then went into the back of the net. Dundee looked to get a second goal, Barnett crossed to Mohammed but he headed over the bar. Welsh made a big stop with two minutes remaining to keep the score level and the match ended 1-1.

The draw saw Queen’s Park win the reserve league and Dundee move up to third position in the league.
