Manager Neil McCann was “absolutely delighted” to seal his first signings as Dundee manager yesterday when Scott Allan and Roarie Deacon both agreed deals with the club.
The manager spoke to the media after the deals were done saying, “I know people would have been saying it would be great if we could get Scott Allan but whether people would have thought we would be able to get him here was another thing.”
“Roarie might not be a household name here but when the fans see Roarie play they will see why I wanted to bring him to Dundee.”
“These two signings will have an impact on other potential signings, they know we mean business, they know we are trying to bring in a certain style of player and a certain standard of player.”
The manager is keen to bring in more players and highlighted the backing he has received from Managing Director John Nelms and the board, “We want to do some more business without a doubt and the club have been fantastic. John Nelms and the board have been really supportive to myself. I’ve been patient and I’ll continue to be patient, they’ve really backed me and what I’m trying to do in terms of recruitment.”
“There will be more business to be done but we don’t go shouting about what we are trying to do.”
