Match Preview – Rangers

Rangers vs Dundee

Saturday 9th December

Ibrox Stadium

cinch Premiership

Dundee have another away game this weekend and we head to Ibrox to take on Rangers in the cinch Premiership. Our last match was the 3-3 draw against Motherwell last Saturday at Fir Park. Unlike Dundee, Rangers were in action in mid-week in the League where they defeated Hearts 0-1 away from home. It will be five and a half weeks since the teams last faced each other when Rangers won 0-5 in Dundee.

Rangers currently sit in second position in the league eight points behind leaders Celtic, but with a game in hand. Dundee currently sit in seventh position two points behind sixth placed Kilmarnock but have two games in hand.

Team News

Diego Pineda is once again ruled out through injury as he recovers from a  quadriceps injury.

Tony Docherty

“Rangers are a difficult opponent, but we are going to treat this like every other game. We are away from home, which is difficult, up against a really good opponent, a strong opponent. The last game won’t come into it. We just need to prepare for this game and make sure we make a better account of ourselves than we did in the last Rangers game. I think with every game, it’s important to try to execute your game plan over your opponent. This week, we have analysed Rangers, as we would do every team. They have huge strengths in their team, we know that, but they also have weaknesses as well, so we will try to exploit those weaknesses and try to negate any strengths they have as much as possible.”

Lyall Cameron

“Yeah, I am looking forward to it. That’s the kind of atmosphere around here. Everyone is looking forward to it. There is nothing better than going to play a big club like Rangers at a great stadium like Ibrox. We know it’s not going to be an easy game. They are a very good side, and it’s a hard place to go, it always is. So it will be a hard game again, but I don’t see why we can’t go there and get some points.”
