Morton | Preview

Manager James McPake spoke to the media ahead of this weekend’s match with Greenock Morton at the Kilmac Stadium.

The manager was asked about the team bouncing back from the opening day defeat at Tynecastle, he said, “I’m really confident because of the characters in the team and the quality that is in that team. Friday night can’t be papered over and we won’t do that. It was really poor but with the character and the quality in the dressing room we will put it right.”

“Training has been really good and there are a lot in my thoughts for a starting place. The performance is what I’m looking for. I believe if we get the right performance then the football takes care of itself.”

Opposition Morton have carried on their good form from before the shutdown with a draw and two wins in their opening games, the manager was asked about the Cappielow side and continued, “Good start to the season. Like us, they were on the ascendancy before the lockdown came. They put a good run together and they gave us trouble in all three games we played them.”

“They’ve got a manager who knows the league and has done well in this league before. They are a real threat to any team in this division and it’s one we need to be at from the start.”
