Manager | Partick Thistle post match

James McPake saw his side record back to back wins with a 1-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Firhill on Saturday.

The manager spoke to DeeTV following the win, “Again it was another edgy last 10 minutes but as a team I thought they did everything we asked of them in terms of being professional. Through the week we touched on how we let Dunfermline back into the game last week. I don’t think there was any danger of that. If we had come of the pitch with a 3-0 I don’t think anyone would have argued.”

“Fox had a great save from Graham Dorrans, Kane Hemmings hit the post and had another deflected just wide. All round as a team I thought we were excellent today.“

“I felt comfortable. I might not have looked like I was comfortable at the side but I genuinely felt comfortable during that game. What we had worked on was there to see.”

The manager singled out Club Captain Josh Meekings who returned to the starting line up, he said “A special mention to Josh Meekings, I thought he was excellent today. We have been desperate to get him back but we have been very wary that when we get him back we need to Josh Meekings that we know. He’s had a long time out with a couple of serious injuries and that’s not easy.”

“Jack was very rarely troubled, when he had to work he was very commanding on what he had to do. Even when the subs came on I thought they were excellent.”

“All round it was a good day but I should have been more comfortable in the end but again I’ll go back to the character. Away from home, late on in a game and the home team are throwing the ball forward, we handled it very well.”
