After defeat last weekend, manager James McPake will be looking to get back to winning ways when Ayr United are the visitors to the Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park this weekend.
The manager spoke to the press ahead of the match and knows Ayr will be looking to add to advantage over Dundee in the table which currently sits at two points, he said, “Ayr are directly above us and they will be looking at it as Inverness were that they can put some daylight between the two clubs, we can’t allow that to happen.”
“This period is big and we aren’t where we want to be in the league. We want to be higher and we are disappointed with our consistency and that we can’t really put a run together. Four games isn’t really a run to me. We need to be better all round the pitch, starting Saturday.”
Declan McDaid and Jamie Ness have returned to training while Andrew Nelson will miss out after having surgery on a hand injury.
With the January transfer window opening, the manager was asked about additions to the squad, he said “We’ve been looking since the summer with a view of strengthen it now and strengthen it in the summer coming. We are very active in that. It’s a process which has been ongoing, from the very top of the club all the way down. We are working away and we are hopeful.”
