“Loads of good stuff”

Dundee ended their pre-season schedule with a 4-0 win over Peterhead at the Kilmac Stadium last night.

Assistant manager Dave Mackay spoke to DeeTV following the victory and praised the team’s performance, he said, “Loads of good stuff tonight, plenty of positives. We asked for more shots at goal, more crosses, more positive stuff in the final third and we definitely got that. Four goals and plenty more chances to go with it so it was a fantastic 90 minutes and the boys are looking good.”

“Every pre-season game we’ve looked better”

One of the stand outs on the night was 15 year old Ewan Murray. Due to rule, he is too young to play in a competitive match for the club but put in a fine performance and was rewarded with his first goal for the club. Dave praised his performance, “He was excellent. He comes in and trains with us but never looks out of place. He came in tonight and looked like a seasoned pro out there. Right from the start he got the ball out his feet and whipped a cross into a dangerous area and from there he put some great balls in. He was up and down all night and obviously got his goal as well which was great.”

The performances has improved game on game since the squad returned to action, something which Dave pointed out was a major positive, he said “That’s what we ask for, we knew it was going to be a bit of slow progress after being away for five months. Every pre-season game we’ve looked better as it’s gone on, culminating tonight in a really polished performance from us.”
