Dundee Reserves were in action today as they took on Livingston Reserves in the cinch Reserve League at the Tony Macaroni Arena. The management team used this as an opportunity to give important game time to eight senior players. Adam Legzdins, Cammy Kerr, Scott Tiffoney, Lee Ashcroft, Josh Mulligan, Zach Robinson, Ryan Howley and Marcel Lewis all started alongside development players Seb Lochhead, Ewan Murray and Finlay Allan.

This fixture allowed Josh Mulligan to get back on the pitch after being out for the past month after undergoing a hernia operation.

Dundee opened the scoring with the first real chance of the game on 19 minutes. Lewis swung in a free-kick which picked out Ashcroft who headed the ball past the keeper.

Four minutes later Dundee were two goals ahead, the move started with Kerr who played a long ball into Robinson who brought the ball in before squaring it to Tiffoney who slotted it into the back of the net.

Howley nearly added a third shortly after but his shot from outside the box was well saved by the keeper.

Dundee did however get their third goal ten minutes later, Mulligan played a nice one-two with Murray and then had a shot on goal. His shot was pushed away by the keeper but was met by Robinson who smashed the ball home.

Dundee nearly went further ahead just before the break when Kerr headed just wide from a Lewis corner and went into the break leading 0-3.

The second half saw fewer chances created.

Livi tried to pull a goal but great defending by Lochhead kept them out.

Dundee got their fourth goal after 74 minutes from substitute Mutale, he created space for himself and then had a shot that hit the post and bounced in.

With a few minutes remaining Legzdins produced a fantastic save to keep Livi out and to keep a clean sheet.

The referee then shortly blew for full-time.

It was a successful afternoon which gave valuable match minutes to a number of players from the senior squad.

The next match for Dundee Reserves is the cinch Reserve Cup at home to Falkirk Reserves on Tuesday 12th December. It will be a 2pm kick-off at North End Park.
