Kilmarnock | Preview

It’s the first leg of the Premiership play-off Final this Thursday as we take on Kilmarnock at the Kilmac Stadium, kick off 8.15pm.

Manager James McPake spoke to the media ahead of the match, he said “We’re excited, we’re ready, we’re refreshed after the game the other night. We’re looking forward to it.”

“Our aim was to get promoted, we’re two games from it now and we’ve given ourselves a really good chance of doing that but we are facing a very good Kilmarnock side and we need to be at our best to get ourselves back to the Premiership.”

Asked about his playing squad in recent months, the manager was quick to praise his team, saying, “I think the last couple of months, when the pressure has been on them, they’ve been really good. We do lots of work on the training ground but the players cross that white line and take it onto the pitch. When it has really mattered they have turned up. With different personnel at times, with different formations, they’ve found ways to win games or win ties like the other night. We lost the game which was disappointing to an extent but the tie was effectively done on the Wednesday night, we just had to manage the game which we did.”

DeeTV subscribers can watch James and Danny Mullen preview the match now.
