Last Meeting
Dundee went down 2-1 to Kilmarnock in unfortunate circumstances at the Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park in Neil McCann’s last game in charge last October. After taking an early lead through Adil Nabi’s first goal for the club, The Dee conceded a freakishly unlucky own goal by Andy Boyle. Killie’s winner came from a hugely controversial penalty scored by Eamonn Brophy following what looked like a dive by Joran Jones who was retrospectively punished. Elliott Parish couldn’t save that one, but he brilliantly parried a later spot kick by Greg Stewart.

Kilmarnock’s Season So Far
Kilmarnock’s season started with a Betfred Cup penalty defeat to Premiership newcomers St Mirren but they still topped their group after defeating Dumbarton, Spartans and Queens Park.
However those dropped points in the opening game cost Killie a seeding in the draw and when they were paired with Rangers, they were knocked after a 3-1 defeat at Rugby Park.
Killie opened their Premiership campaign with a 2-0 home win over St Johnstone but followed that up with a draw away at Livingston and a defeat to Hearts.
Kilmarnock bounced back with an excellent 2-0 win at Pittodrie before being unlucky to lose 3-2 at Easter Road but when they returned to Rugby Park they continued their recent good record against Celtic with a last minute 2-1 win and then a 3-1 victory over Motherwell.
Killie were unbeaten in October with two 2-1 wins over Dundee and St Mirren and two 1-1 draws with Hamilton and Rangers but that sequence was ended when Aberdeen left Rugby Park with a 2-1 win.
Kilmarnock bounced back from that defeat with a superb 1-0 win over league leaders Hearts at Tynecastle and remained in contention at the top of the table with a 0-0 draw in Perth and a 3-0 win against Hibernian when the floodlights twice failed during the match at Easter Road.
Then in their next game Killie hit the top of the Premiership after a 2-0 win home win over Livi when both Rangers and Celtic dropped points but came back down to earth and off the top of the table after their next game when they lost 5-1 at Celtic Park. However it doesn’t take away from the fact that Steve Clarke has done a tremendous job at Rugby Park and enabled Killie to dare to dream.
