Danny Mullen was at the Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park this morning to put pen to paper on a two year deal with the club. He sat down with DeeTV after joining and told us, “I’m buzzing to be here, it’s a long time coming. I can’t wait to get started and meet all the boys.”
On deadline day in January a potential deal to bring Danny to Dens went right to the wire but the clubs couldn’t come to an agreement in the end, Danny said of that potential deal, “It’s was really close but it just didn’t work out.”
That interest however showed that James McPake has been a long time admirer of the striker, he continued, “That’s half the battle when you are at a club, that the manager likes you. Now I’m at the club I’m going to prove to the manager and prove to the team that I can help the team get to where they want to be.”
He already has a Championship winners medal from his time with St. Mirren and also played in the league with Livingston, Danny said, “I know the league well I’ve done well in this league and I can see myself doing well at a club like this. It’s a massive club and the players here are top quality.”
Like every other player in the country Danny has found himself training alone during the lockdown, when asked about it, he added, “It’s been tough, doing long road runs yourself at the start. Now it is getting closer to being back and I’m signed here it’s all positive.”
“Training yourself just isn’t the same. Getting into a routine, getting up in the morning and going to your job and working hard, there is nothing better than that and I can’t wait.”
