Club captain Josh Meekings spoke to DeeTV yesterday about the uncertainty that the players are currently experiencing.
The players haven’t trained this week after guidance came out to suspend until further notice. Josh told us, “We are being told what we are to do, day by day. In the house you try do a little bit to keep yourself ticking over, obviously we need to be careful with that because we are doing it ourselves.”
“It’s a difficult period for everybody. We understand it’s frustrating, we are in the same boat. The management and staff are in the same boat. It’s just one of them things. We need to listen to those who know best and do what is right at the moment. We are just taking it day by day.”
“We’ve have a set programme which has been sent out to the boys. You just follow that and the set guidelines as best you can. It’s difficult because you don’t want to be going out with groups of people and it’s hard to do it on your own but being in the situation we are in it’s just about trying to make the most of it.”
He also had a message for the supporters, “Just everybody stay safe, try listen to what we are being told. It’s obviously a difficult period, I’m guessing a lot of people are off work at the moment. Just stay safe and we’ll be back soon hopefully and ready to go.”
