Last Meeting

Dundee face a difficult Scottish Cup fourth round replay in Inverness after a performance marred by defensive errors in the 2-2 draw against Caley Thistle at Dens Park ten days ago. An Aaron Doran goal gave the visitors a half time lead but the Dark Blues came back strongly after the break and goals from Sofien Moussa and Mark O’Hara put Dundee in charge. With a place in the fifth round tantalisingly close for the Dee, George Oakley earned a replay for Caley Thistle with a late equaliser that left the Dee defence with red faces.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s Season So Far

After relegation from the Premiership last season, Inverness Caledonian Thistle have struggled somewhat in the Championship and are well of the pace of the leaders and chasing down a play off spot.

Having dispensed with the services of Ritchie Foran in the summer, former Dee John Robertson returned for a second spell in charge at the Caley Stadium.

Despite being the top seeds Caley failed to get out their Betfred Cup group after beating Brechin and Forfar, picking up a penalty win bonus point against Stirling but crucially losing 2-0 at home to fellow Championship side Falkirk.

Their league campaign got off to the worst possible start when they lost 1-0 at home to Dundee United and followed that up with a 5-1 defeat to Dunfermline at East End Park.

Caley’s first league win came with 4-0 win at Brechin but they failed to win again until the middle of October when they finally got their promotion push on track with back to back wins over Dundee United and Dunfermline Athletic.

In the Irn-Bru Cup Caley knocked out Aberdeen U20s, Peterhead and Falkirk and now face Irish side Crusaders in the semi-final next month.

They have been unable to replicate their Challenge Cup form in the league with defeats to St Mirren and Morton and draws with Livingston (twice) and Queen of the South but a double win over Brechin and victories over Dumbarton, Falkirk and Queen of the South in recent weeks have kept the Caley Jags in touch with a play off spot.

Since the first game with Dundee they lost 3-1 to Falkirk in the Championship last Saturday but remain three points off a play off spot.
