Jordan McGhee put pen to paper at the Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park on Monday afternoon as he signed a two year deal with the club.
Asked how he felt after joining Dundee, the defender told us, “Delighted to finally get it over the line and can’t wait to get started and meet the boys on Friday.”
Jordan told us it has been in the works for a few weeks and James McPake was keen to get his on board, “A couple of weeks back the Gaffer phoned my agent and was keen to get it sorted. It’s taken a bit longer than expected but I’m delighted to get it done.”
He has been in the Championship for the past two seasons with Falkirk so is someone who knows the league well, “It’s going to be tough but Dundee should be looking to win the league and go up, it’s a massive club and hopefully I can do everything I can to help us get back up there.”
“I’m looking forward to the hard work, getting to meet the boys, get a feel for the place and meet everyone.”
Manager James McPake was delighted to get Jordan in his squad, he told us, “For a 22 year old he has played a lot of football.”
“He captained Falkirk at a young age, that shows his leadership qualities which is something I really like. Outwith the senior squad he has played at every level for Scotland and has captained his country at times at these age groups.”
“We identified him as the type character we want to bring into our football club but above all he is a very good player with experience of winning this league.”
