“I really enjoyed that one”

Ollie Crankshaw came off the bench to score his first goal for the club at home to Ayr United on Tuesday evening.

The on loan Wigan man spoke to DeeTV following the game, he said “I really enjoyed that one. The first goal is always on a players mind, to get that first goal at a new club.”

“It’s great to get the goal but I’m just glad of the three points for the team.”

“The team were quality. We never looked like conceding a goal, we always looked like a threat. I think we dominated the game right from the start to the end and it was just good to get that goal at the end just to secure the win.”

His first goal might have come a lot earlier as he was presented with an opportunity just seconds after coming onto the park but couldn’t connect with the ball into the box, he said, “I completely missed the ball if I’m honest. I just ran too quick. It would have been great to get a goal in probably the first 10 seconds so I’m glad I got the goal to take it off my mind.”

Ollie has seen himself come off the bench in a more advanced role in recent weeks and he told DeeTV that isn’t something that fazes him too much, “The formation has changed so I’m just trying to fit into that formation. The formation has definitely been working so I’m just looking to get more minutes and get opportunities to affect the game.”
