Hibs took a first minute lead through a Genseric Kusunga own goal and Ryan Porteous made it two after half an hour. The Dark Blues fought back with beautifully crafted goals by Kenny Miller and Paul McGowan either side of half time and then held on for a well deserved point.

Hibernian’s Season So Far

Hibernian’s season started in the Europa League qualifiers in July and in their first match defeated NSI Runavik 6-1 at Easter Road before a wee scare in the Faroe Islands before a 6-4 win.

A 4-3 aggregate victory over Greek side Asteras set up a tie with Molde but after a 0-0 draw in Edinburgh, Hibs were knocked out after a 3-0 defeat in Norway.

In the Premiership Hibs opened their campaign with a 3-0 win over Motherwell and followed that up with draws against St Johnstone and Aberdeen before a surprise defeat away at newly promoted Livingston.

In the Betfred Cup Hibs have reached the quarter-finals after an exciting 3-2 win over Ross County but exited the competition on penalties after a 0-0 draw with Aberdeen at Easter Road.

Hibs then went a four game winning run against Kilmarnock, Dundee, St Mirren and Hamilton before losing 4-2 in an exhilarating match at Celtic Park.

The first Edinburgh derby of the season was a controversial one but ended 0-0 and it was followed by two 1-0 defeats to St Johnstone and Aberdeen before Dundee earned a draw in the Capital after  coming back from 2-0 down.

The winless run extended to seven after a defeat at Killie and a home draw with St Mirren but that was ended with a 1-0 win at Hamilton on December 8th.

Back to back to back home games with the Old Firm within three days yielded four points after a superb 2-0 win over Celtic and a 0-0 draw with Rangers and the Hibees drew again with Rangers on boxing day, this time 1-1 at Ibrox..

Hibs went into the winter break on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Hearts and came out of it knocking Elgin City out the Scottish Cup, then losing 1-0 at Motherwell.

That loss at Fir Park would be Neil Lennon’s last game in charge as he would be suspended two days later after a training ground incident. Academy manager Eddie May took charge of the 3-1 win at St Mirren Park on the Sunday and he would remain caretaker manager for defeats to Aberdeen and Celtic and a Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers at Easter Road.

Last week Hibernian appointed Leeds United boss Paul Heckingbottom and his first game in charge was a 2-0 win at home to Hamilton.
