Striker Matty Henvey hit a double to give Dundee a 2-1 victory against Hamilton Accies on Tuesday evening.
Both sides included a number of first team players with Dundee fielding Jesse Curran, Danny Williams, Mark O’Hara and Randy Wolters.
The first half was an even contest with Hamilton giving Dundee an early scare when a shot rocketed back off the crossbar and was turned in but the linesman’s flag kept the score at 0-0.
Dundee’s best chance came when O’Hara burst forward and drilled a shot inches wide of the post.
In the second period Dundee took the lead when Williams throughball found Henvey who drove forward before firing a shot home.
Minutes later Hamilton were level in controversial circumstances. David Templeton’s shot hit the underside of the bar and bounced infront of the line but the linesman awarded the goal much to the surprise of everyone in the ground.
Hamilton pushed on late on in the match but it would be The Dee who would gain the victory. A long ball forward was latched onto by Henvey and when the defender with him slipped it presented the striker with another one on one. Again he made no mistakes firing in at the near post to give Dundee victory.
