Hamilton – Fast Facts

  • Dundee’s first visit to Hamilton was in August 1906 when The Dee won 3-1 at Accies’ original Douglas Park
  • Dundee’s first league visit to New Douglas Park was for a First Division match in August 2005 which ended 1-1
  • Dundee’s last visit to Hamilton was the final Premiership game of last season when Accies 4-0 win sent them into the play-offs where they defeated Dundee United over two legs to condemn The Arabs to another season in the Championship
  • Dundee have met Hamilton at five different grounds namely Dens Park, Douglas Park, Easter Road, Firhill, Cliftonhill and The SuperSeal Stadium
  • After winning the Scottish Cup in 1910, Dundee lost to Hamilton in the semi-final the following year
  • Dundee defeated Hamilton in the Scottish Cup semi-final in 1925 in a replay at Easter Road
  • Last season’s results between the sides saw one win for Dundee, one draw and two wins for Hamilton
  • Dundee only faced Hamilton four times throughout the Forties, Fifties and Sixties
  • Hamilton’s fourth straight season in the Premiership this year is their longest ever run in the top flight
  • Hamilton were docked 15 points in 1999/2000 when their players went on strike and they were unable to fulfil a league fixture
