Last Meeting
The Dark Blues delighted the travelling support with a winner by A-Jay Leitch-Smith in the 98th minute at Hamilton last January. Dundee recovered well from a disastrous start, conceding an own goal by Mark O’Hara in the second minute. Although the Dee dominated, they couldn’t grab an equaliser until 18 year old substitute Matty Henvey scored his first senior goal after 77 minutes. Accies were down to 10 men after David Templeton’s sending off, and lost Darian MacKinnon through injury in stoppage time. The nine men had their backs to the wall, but couldn’t keep the Dark Blues out.

Hamilton’s Season So Far
Accies opened their season with a 3-1 Betfred Cup victory away at Lowland League side East Kilbride and went on to top their group. It wasn’t all plain sailing however as they required two bonus points from penalty kick wins after a 1-1 draw with Queen of the South at home and a 4-4 draw with Albion Rovers away.
In their final group game top spot was sealed with a 3-0 win at home against Stenhousemuir with Hamilton scoring 11 goals in their four games.
They failed to hit the target however in their first Premiership game when they went down 2-0 to Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
Hamilton then had to complete a double header with The Dons when they drew them at home in the second round of the Betfred Cup and despite an improved performance from the one at Pittodrie, they still went down 1-0 and out the League Cup.
After defeating Dundee at home in August, Hamilton had an excellent 3-1 win over Easter Road and then picked up a point at point at Rugby Park but after that went on a six game losing streak.
They broke that streak just before they last played The Dee when they drew 0-0 with Partick Thistle at home and then departed Dens Park with a 3-1 win.
Accies good run continued with a 2-2 draw at home to Aberdeen and then a famous 2-0 win over Rangers at Ibrox before subsequent draws with both Edinburgh sides Hearts and Hibs.
Mid December saw defeats to St Johnstone and Celtic before a vital 3-2 home win over Ross County and a 3-1 win in the Lanarkshire derby at Fir Park in the last game before the winter break but they couldn’t replicate that in the first game back when they crashed out of the Scottish Cup 2-0 to Motherwell.
In the Premiership Hamilton returned from the break with defeats to Hearts, Dundee, Aberdeen and Rangers before a vital 2-1 win at home to Partick at the end of February. They followed this up with a 2-0 victory over Motherwell at the SuperSeal Stadium and a 2-2 draw with Ross County in Dingwall before they went into freefall and lost the next six games.
However in their last game Accies defeated bottom side Ross County by two goals to nil to now come to Dens on the same points as The Dee.
