Faiss is Bakh for Ibrox trip

Dundee head to Ibrox on league business for the first time in 12 years this weekend and manager Paul Hartley’s squad has been boosted by the return of Faissal El Bakhtaoui.

The striker has missed the last three matches after being forced off against St. Johnstone with a calf problem in October and will be in the squad on Saturday.

Defender Kevin Gomis will also be available for selection despite having to leave the pitch in the victory over Motherwell two weeks ago.

There was more good news on the injury front this week as Mark O’Hara returned to training, however, the Ibrox trip will come too soon for the midfielder. Yordi Teijsse and Nicky Low are also likely to miss out through injury.

One other player who returned to full training this week was captain James McPake. Manager Paul Hartley said of the captains return to training, “We are pleased for James, it’s been a long recovery. He’s not over it yet, he’s had a couple of days training. It will still take some time, we will ease him back in but it’s good to see him back on the training field but he’s still a bit away.”

On the break and the upcoming match with Rangers, the manager continued, “We are on the back of two good results. We’ve had a little break but we are ready to go again, we’ve trained well last week and this week. The players are in a good mood, confident and looking forward to the game on Saturday.”
