Motherwell Match Preview – December 2024

Dundee vs Motherwell

4/12/24

7:45pm kick-off

William Hill Premiership

The Scot Foam Stadium

Motherwell make their first trip to the Scot Foam Stadium this season but it’s the second meeting of the sides this season. Dundee played Motherwell at Fir Park on the 19th of October and it was the Dee who left with the three points. Lyall Cameron’s first-half strike secured a one-nil win for The Dee and earned Dundee their first away win of the season. Dundee’s victory on that day at that time was only the Well’s third league defeat of the season. Since then Motherwell have played five league matches. From these matches league matches they have won two and lost three. The two victories came away to Dundee United and then at home to St Johnstone. The three defeats were against Celtic, Ross County and most recently at home to Hibs on Saturday. Motherwell will be looking to bounce back from their defeat at the weekend and have the opportunity to do so on Wednesday. Only three points currently separate Motherwell in 5th place and Dundee in 7th place, however, Dundee has played one more match. Their current top goal scorer is Tawanda Maswanhise with three goals and as a team they have so far scored 16 league goals and conceded 19 goals. Former Dee Zach Robinson returns to Dens for the first time and will be looking to find the net against his former side. Motherwell know a win would put them six points ahead of their opponents, whereas Dundee know a win would see them overtake the Well on goal difference.
