Dundee vs Aberdeen – Match Preview

Dundee vs Aberdeen

28/9/24

3pm kick-off

William Hill Premiership

The Scot Foam Stadium

Aberdeen visit Dundee this weekend in fantastic form. They are not only undefeated so far this season, but they have won all of their league and cup matches. Last weekend they defeated Spartans in the Premier Sports Cup to reach the semi-finals of the competition where they will face Celtic. In the league, they have five wins out of five the same as current league Champions Celtic. It is a big contrast to Aberdeen’s season last campaign where they finished in the bottom six, finishing seventh. But it appears they are a different animal this season now under the management of Jimmy Thelin who has brought the belief back to the Aberdeen support. Last season Dundee and Aberdeen met three times with only three goals being scored in the three matches. They didn’t meet until January 2024 and the match ended 1-1 and was the last match for manager Barry Robson who was sacked the next day. The other two meetings were overseen by Interim Manager, Peter Leven. It was The Dee who won the match at Dens Park, with the only goal coming from the penalty spot as Luke McCowan secured a 1-0 win for the home side. The last meeting at Pittodrie was a 0-0 draw but a point was enough to see Dundee secure their place in the top six. As highlighted above Aberdeen appear to be a completely different side to last season and will be looking to continue their 100% record on Saturday.
