Dundee United B 0 – 0 Dundee B – 13/8/24 – SPFL Trust Trophy Round 2

Dundee United B win 3 – 1 on penalties.

Dundee B exited the SPFL Trust Trophy on penalties at the second round stage.
The match ended 0-0 with nothing separating the sides after 90 minutes and went straight to penalties.
It was a quiet start to the game with few chances created by either side. Jamie Richardson and Sweenie-Rowe had a header saved by the United keeper. Corrigan and Clark also had goal attempts but neither caused a threat on the United goal.

Again in the second half, there were not many attempts on goal but the two big chances of the game came in the closing stages of the match and fell to Jamie Richardson of Dundee.
Leiper won the ball from the defender and played in Richardson who had a clear shot on a goal but he pulled his shot wide of the target. Then five minutes later Sweenie-Rowe brilliantly picked out Richardson in the box but again his shot went wide. There were no chances with the match ending 0-0.

The match went to penalties with Dundee stepping up first. Captain Lorimer scored the first spot-kick. But Richardson, Clark and Graham missed their spot kicks while United converted all of their penalties.  United advanced to the third round after winning 3-1 in the shootout.
