Dundee B v Formartine United

A 2-0 win at Glebe Park tonight puts Dundee B into the second round of the SPFL Trust Trophy thanks to 2 first half goals from Rayan Mohammed and Marley Sweenie-Rowe. Dundee broke the deadlock in 13 minutes, a ball swung into the box by the captain Lewis Lorimer found Mohammed towering over the centre half, which looped over the keeper and into the back of the net. The second came 5 minutes later, a corner whipped in by Corrigan was spilled by the keeper, which fell to Sweenie-Rowe who poked home and made it 2-0 within 18 minutes. These early goals settled the team into the game, and were the better side in the first half, with a few close chances from Richardson, Corrigan but the half ended 2-0 Dundee. No changes made at half time by Scott Robertson, Formartine started the better side, with a few early chances, Josh Mitchell blocking a shot from Uniteds Graham Rodgers. Aaron Norris received a yellow card for a late challenge on Jamie Richardson. Formartine had more possession, but no clear cut chances, Harrison Sharp in goals had to come for some crosses but no shots on target to really test him. Dee made their first and only sub in the 89th minute, with Michael Hunter replacing Finlay Corrigan. The lads had to dig deeps with many bodies behind the ball towards the end but Formartines attack came to no avail. The referee blew for full time. A great team performance all round from Dundee, Formartine threw everything at it but created no real chances and it is Dundee who progress into the next round, facing Dundee United B.
