Manager James McPake led his team to back to back wins with victory over Queen of the South.
Jordon Forster’s second half paired with a clean sheet was enough to give Dundee all three points. The manager spoke to DeeTV following the win and said, “It took a long time in coming, we had to be patient. It was looking for a while that it was going to be a draw. We knocked on the door a few times and I think we had a few chances when we should have scored but we showed resilience. We showed battling qualities at the other end which I think earlier in the season we didn’t quite show.”
“Defensively as a team I thought we were great. The conditions were difficult for both sides but we said at half time, you roll the sleeves up and you get out of here with three points and it’s a massive three points for us.”
The manager has made a change in shape in recent weeks with the 3-5-2 formation bringing success, he said of the change, “It varies at times. At times it was a 3-4-3 with Gowser being high but that’s the things we have been working on. We didn’t see too much of it because of the conditions but in the second half we got it down a bit more and we did play at time. We moved them more in the second half than we did in the first so that was pleasing.”
“The last three games we have been completely different team defensively from earlier in the season.”
“As a team I thought we were good. Would I have said different if I was speaking after a 0-0? Probably not because defensively we were great as a team. Coming away from home, especially in conditions like this, on that surface, it does make it harder. I’m pleased that as a team we stuck together and had the patience.
