Ayr United | Preview

After Scottish Cup action at the weekend it is back to league duty for James McPake’s side this Tuesday as we travel to Somerset Park to face Ayr United, kick off 7pm.

The manager spoke to the broadcast media ahead of the match, “Performances recently have been decent enough, take away that Ayr United game, but tomorrow is a chance to put that right and we have stressed that to the players.”

“We know what they bring and we’ll need to roll the sleeves up and win the battle first and let our quality come through.”

“They have beaten us twice already this season so we want to put that right. It’s a tough place to go, we know that. We had joy down there last season, we weren’t so good this season but the squad is in a good place at the minute.”

“They are confident and yes we lost at the weekend but the performance was ok. Ultimately an ok performance means nothing because we didn’t go through but we are confident and we have a strong squad going down there tomorrow night and the key thing is going down there and getting the three points.”

DeeTV subscribers can watch James and Cammy Kerr preview the match now.

Post match supporters will be able to watch a full match replay, highlights and post match interviews with the manager and player.

Injury news

The manager also gave an update on the injury situation, he said “Lee Ashcroft, we got off at the right time and he’ll be fine for tomorrow night. Jakubiak, potentially might be involved, we’ll assess that one and have a look at the squad this afternoon. It might come a little bit too early for him.”

“McGhee, might come a bit early for him as well but everyone else is fine.”
