Ayr United’s Season So Far

Ayr’s season started off with an impressive 7-0 Betfred Cup win away at newly demoted Lowland League side Berwick Rangers but their next League Cup match was away at Premiership opposition and they went down 2-1 to Livingston.

Ayr then hosted League One side Falkirk and won 2-1 against a Bairns side who played most of the second half with ten men.

In their last group game Ayr drew 2-2 with Stranraer and lost the penalty shoot out and not getting the bonus point cost them qualification as one of the best runners-up.

They started their Ladbrokes Championship season in the best possible way with a 4-2 win over Greenock Morton last Saturday.
