Last Meeting
On the 50th anniversary of Dundee becoming Champions of Scotland, the Dark Blues, wearing a specially commissioned 1962 anniversary shirt, disappointingly went down 3-2 to relegation threatened Ayr United at Somerset Park in the penultimate game of the season.
Steven Milne gave The Dee a first half lead before Keigan Parker equalised on the hour for the Honest Men. It looked like Ryan Conroy might have won it for Dundee with fifteen minutes left but a second from Keigan Parker and then a winner from substitute Ross Robertson in the final minute was enough to keep the three points in Ayr and help them bottom spot and into the First Division play-offs.

Ayr United’s Season So Far
Last season’s League One winners Ayr United started their season with an impressive Betfred Cup campaign where they breezed through their group and topped their section.
In their opening match at home to Morton, a Lawrence Shankland hat-trick secured a 3-1 win against a fellow Championship side and they followed that up with a 2-0 win at Albion Rovers.
Shankland then scored his second hat-trick of the season in a 5-0 win at home to Stenhousemuir and in their final group game secured an impressive 2-0 win at Partick to top their section with a 100% record.
Having defeated the recently relegated Jags at Firhill in the League Cup, Ayr then repeated that feat in their first league match of the season with a 2-0 win at Somerst Park thanks to a Shankland double.
In their second league game Ayr travelled north to Inverness and secured a credible 0-0 draw against a side looking for automatic promotion.
