Paul McGowan scored the only goal the last time the side’s met but he is under no illusions about how difficult the task will be when Dundee visit Arbroath on Friday evening, live on BBC Scotland.
The midfielder spoke to the broadcast media ahead of the match, he said, “They are a hard side to play against. A lot of teams have gone up there and struggled. They are a good side, it’s going to be a tough game. It’s probably one of the toughest away fixtures in the league. “
“Nobody looks forward to going up to Arbroath, it’s wet, windy, the pitch is not great. It’s a hard game, they make it tough for you.”
“All the games that I’ve played against them have been a real battle, all credit to them and their coaching staff. The manager has got them doing things right and making it hard for teams. We know they are part time but all credit to them, they’ve done well to stay in the league. They were fighting for the play offs last year which was incredible.”
Dundee are currently on a run of seven matches unbeaten and will look to extend that in what is a busy week with re-arranged fixture upcoming, Paul continued, “We’ve got a big few weeks coming up. We go into Friday and try get the win then we’ve got a big game against Ayr, every game is crucial now. We just need to take each game as it comes, try win that, then focus on the next one.”
