Calum Ferrie came into the side a couple of weeks ago and kept his place in the team last weekend after a clean sheet in his first appearance of the season.
He looked ahead to this Friday’s trip to Alloa when he spoke to the broadcast media this week. Alloa will be the first artificial surface that Dundee have played on this season. Calum said, “I think it’s always difficult going from grass to astro but we have trained on astro every day this week. I think as players we have all grown up with 3G, 4G or even 2G when I was down south. We’ve all been used it so that’s not an excuse. We go there and make sure we perform and get the three points hopefully.”
Calum knows the goalkeeping position is unique in that the group work together closely every day but only one can play come the weekend, he continued, “You need that in a club. You need competition regardless of what position it is. Me and Jack have always worked really well together along with Harry the young goalie.”
“I’ve been here a number of years now and I’ve worked with a number of different goalies and players and I’ve never worked with any goalie who isn’t supportive of the other goalies regardless of the situation. We all want each other to do well, to play well, to train well. I think that is what breeds a competitive mentality which gives you the best performances that you can hope for.”

Alex Jakubiak will miss out and the manager confirmed he has suffered a set back in his return from injury.
Jordon Forster and Callum Moore will both miss the match through injury while Osman Sow has returned to training.
