Alex joins

Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Alex Jakubiak on a two year deal.

Striker Alex joins after leaving Watford at the end of his contract in the summer.

Alex came through the youth ranks at Vicarage Road and went on to make his debut in the English Championship at the age of 17.

He went on to have nine loan spells during his time at Watford. Gaining experience in League One and League Two down south.

North of the border he scored 7 goals in 18 games for Falkirk in an impressive six month spell in 2018 under former Dundee boss Paul Hartley.

His most recent loan spell saw him back in Scotland, this time in the Premiership with St. Mirren. He opened his account for the Buddies in the Scottish Cup against Motherwell before seeing his time in Paisley cut short by the premature ending to the season.

He joins Dundee on a two year deal and will wear number 7.

James McPake was delighted to add Alex to his squad this afternoon, he said “He is a player that we know really well from his time in Scotland with Falkirk and St. Mirren.”

“Alex is one that excites us. He was identified very early on as one that we would like to bring to the club.”

“With Andrew Nelson and Kane Hemmings leaving it was important we strengthened but with our background work already done on Alex and Danny Mullen we had already identified those two and we are delighted to bring both to the club.”

“We are grateful to the staff and players who recently took part in the financial restructuring process as well as the outstanding effort from the fans.”

“The most important thing above all else is we want people who are fully committed to the football club. I’m happy that the players and staff who are now at the club have shown that this is the case.”
