Aberdeen – Match Preview

Aberdeen – Match Preview

Tomorrow Wednesday, 13th March, we are in mid-week action as we host Aberdeen at The Scot Foam Stadium. This is our rearranged cinch Premiership fixture which was postponed on the 23rd of December. It is a 7:45pm kick-off on Wednesday night.

It is only our second meeting against Aberdeen this season. The first two matches at Pittodrie and The Scot Foam Stadium were postponed, meaning the sides didn’t meet till the 30th of January 2024. The match ended 1-1 at Pittodrie with Bojan Miovski scoring from the spot for Aberdeen before Lee Ashcroft levelled for The Dee in the second half. The match ended up being Barry Robson’s last match in charge of the Dons, with him being sacked the next day. A week later Neil Warnock was in charge of Aberdeen as manager till the end of the season. Aberdeen played eight matches under Warnock two of them in the Scottish Cup and six in the league. They won their two Scottish Cup matches, and in the league they drew two and lost four. On Saturday they won 3-1 at home to Kilmarnock and advanced to the Semi-Finals of the Scottish Cup. After the match, it was announced that Neil Warnock had stepped down as Interim Manager and was leaving the club with Peter Leven assuming control of all first-team matters until a new manager is appointed.

Dundee come into this match on 33 points sitting in 7th position, whilst Aberdeen currently sit in 10th position on 27 points.

Tony Docherty

“Aberdeen are a good side who have already been to an international final this year. They’ve got good individual players. What I need to focus on is how I can affect my team and how we play. We will endeavour tomorrow night to do as much as we can to continue our good home form and the high levels of performance to try and get the three points.”

Scott Tiffoney

“We know Aberdeen is a good team with good players. We are going into the game with our own mindset and try to take the game to them with our own game plan.”
