20s lose out to Partick

Dundee went down 3-1 to Partick Thistle in the SPFL Development League on Tuesday evening at the Excelsior Stadium.

The hosts were ahead after just three minutes when John Kelly turned home a knock down from a Gary Fraser free kick.

Partick doubled their lead after quarter of an hour when they nicked the ball in midfield and Connor Higgins drilled home from the edge of the box.

Dundee pulled one back when Ian Smith’s cross was headed home by Julen Etxabeguren but it was only a couple of minutes before the two goal lead was restored.

Mark Lamont found Kevin Nisbet who headed home to make it 3-1.

There was very little action after the break with Thistle closing the match out to take all three points.

Starting line up – Ferrie, Coupe, Rice, Gadzhalov, Etxabeguren, O’Hara, I. Smith, Vincent, Henvey (J. Smith), Anderson (Mooney), Moore (Berry)

Unused Subs – Bain
