18s begin with a draw

Our Under 18 side opened their league account with a 2-2 draw away to Fife Elite last night.

The home side took the lead after 10 minutes before Dundee hit back to go infront thanks to two goals from Grady McGrath.

The first was a fine individual effort as McGrath controlled the ball on the edge of the area and showed good foot work before hitting an fierce shot past the Fife Elite goalkeeper.

McGrath’s second came after a nice team move ended with Kyle Fleming slipping the ball inbehind the defence and he rounded the keeper before slotting home.

In a match which the young Dundee side just shaded it would end all square with Fife Elite netting with 20 minutes remaining.

Next up for Scott Robertson’s side is a trip to take on St. Mirren this Friday.

Starting line up – Sharp, Kemlo, Murray, Joyce, Hornyik, D. Strachan, White, Fleming, Mansouri, McGrath, Dow.

Subs – Arnott, Lamb, Dewar, Kerr #thedee
