St Johnstone | Preview

There will be a fantastic atmosphere at the Kilmac Stadium on Saturday as we take on St. Johnstone in our first post-split fixture, kick off 3pm.

Supporters have backed the club with huge sales so far leaving just limited tickets in the Bobby Cox Stand and Main Stand while the South Enclosure is sold out.

The match will give Dundee the chance to make up ground on the Perth side who currently sit 11th and 5 points ahead.

When the teams last met in the City of Discovery, Danny Mullen’s first half strike was enough to give Dundee all three points.

The last meeting between the sides came at McDiarmid and was a 0-0 draw back in January.

Team News

Lee Ashcroft and Cillian Sheridan remain long term injuries.

Dee Archive

Dundee take on St Johnstone in what could very well be the biggest tie between both of these clubs since our League Cup Semi-Final tie way back in October 1967!

Dundee head into this match on the back of two hard-fought draws which saw us come from behind twice to claim a point while the Saints will still have their 7-0 drubbing away to Celtic still fresh in their minds.

This will be the 177 competitive meeting between both teams and Dundee will be looking to make it victory 75 over the opposition.

With tickets selling well, this could be the highest attendance at Dens Park for the fixture since 8,586 fans turned up to see Dundee win 4-1 in April 1981.

Our memory match looks back a few seasons ago to the first meeting between the clubs in 2017-18 where a A-Jay Leitch double and a Sofien Moussa penalty gave the Dee a 3-2 victory at Dens Park.
