Zan Besir becomes third summer signing

Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Zan Besir on a two-year-deal with the option of a third year, subject to the relevant international clearance and obtaining the necessary visa.

Besir joined up with the squad in Hungary, training with his new teammates for the second half of the week.

The Slovenian most recently played for ND Primorje, leaving the Slovenian Second League club at the end of his contract in June. The versatile midfielder is also a former Slovenia U21 international.

Zan Besir said:

“Dundee is a massive club, with great fans and great ambition, so for me it was a very easy pick and I’m looking forward to it.

“I know that the Scottish Premiership is a very tough league, so it’s a big step for me in my career. I can’t wait to meet the fans, I can’t wait to see them at Dens Park and for the start of the season.”

Manager Steven Pressley said:

“Zan is another exciting signing for the season ahead. There were a number of others club interested in him, so we’re delighted to get this over the line and for Zan to be a Dundee player.

“We were able to get him out to Budapest to join us, which was a great way for him to integrate with both staff and players. He very much fits the profile of player we were looking for in this position and is an important addition to the squad.”

Everyone at Dundee Football Club would like to welcome Zan to Dens Park and wish him every success during his time with the Dark Blues.
