A young Dundee side went down 4-1 to Hamilton Accies in the SPFL Development League last night at New Douglas Park.
With no first team regulars in the side, the Dark Blues found themselves behind after only six minutes when Accies player/manager Martin Canning headed home.
From then on Hamilton dominated the opening period and added a second after only 20 minutes. Canning again involved as a corner was not properly cleared and he slipped in Longridge who cut back for Want to tap in.
After the break Dundee started brighter and grabbed a goal back four minutes after the restart. Kyle Clark’s shot was well saved but Kerr Waddell was on hand to turn the ball high into the net.
Dundee were well on top for the next 20 or so minutes with Josh Skelly and Ryan Gemmell coming close. Accies edged their way back in and but for an outstanding Sam Dryden goal line clearance would have made it 3-1 on the hour mark.
They didn’t have to wait long however as soon after Boyd danced his way through the Dundee defence before turning home. A few minutes later the scoring was complete and Cunningham found the net for Accies to put the game to bed.
