Wighton at Finals

While the full time whistle on Saturday brought the end to the football season for the majority of players and sparked party time as the players got the trophy then headed out to celebrate. One member of the squad was heading to the airport to meet up with the Scotland under 17 squad to take part in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals .

Craig Wighton, who was on the bench on Saturday, left Dens and headed straight to the airport where he met up with the rest of the squad to head to Malta on a 5AM flight.

16 year old Craig played a big part in the young Scots qualification for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals in March when they came through the Elite group with an 100% record.

The striker has featured a number of times this season for Dundee, scoring twice for the club as they won the SPFL Championship title.

All the matches are covered on UK television on Eurosport – their first comes on Friday against Portugal with a 2.15pm kick-off (UK time).

They then face Germany on Monday before finishing their group against Switzerland on Thursday.
