Craig Wighton and Scotland under 17s completed their qualifying group with an 100% record in the UEFA European Under-17 Championships elite round.
The Dundee striker has been away with the Scotland set up for the past week and in that time had already booked their place to the Finals in Malta prior to their final match with Romania on Saturday.
Manager Scot Gemmill rang the changes with the passage to the Finals already secured but Craig started again for the young Scots – one of only three players to start all three games.
A 1-0 victory for the Scots at Rugby Park meant they had seen off each team in their group to finish on maximum points.
The SFA’s official site match report praised Craig saying, “Dundee’s Craig Wighton was causing the Romanian defence all sorts of problems as Scotland’s main focal point in attack.”
The Finals take place in May of this year.
