Manager Paul Hartley watched his side snatch all three points right at the death as Paul McGowan turned home an injury time winner against Partick Thistle on Saturday.
The boss, was pleased the see his side come away with all three points, saying, “Great time to get the goal, it looked like it was going to be a draw and we get the goal in the dying seconds.”
“It was a scrappy game, I didn’t think the players performed well but they never gave up.”
The goal was an excellent move with Craig Wighton and Gary Harkins combining to set up McGowan to slot home, Paul said of the goal, “Brilliant composure from Harkins, good ball from Wighty and he lays it on a plate for McGowan to get his first goal of the season.”
Partick will have felt hard done by to leave with no points after a decent display and the manager recognised that saying, “They created some chances and maybe we were a bit fortunate but we’ll take the win.”
The win saw the club leapfrog St. Johnstone and go into the top six with seven games remaining, that now presents a new challenge to the team, “We’re in it and the challenge now is to try stay in it.”
