Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of left-back Imari Samuels on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
The 21-year-old joins from Brighton & Hove Albion where he has been since August 2022. Prior to that Samuels came through the ranks at Reading and played 38 times for their Under-21s.
Last season he joined Fleetwood Town on loan at the end of the January transfer window and made four appearances in England’s League One.
Samuels has international experience in the England youth set-up and has represented England at Under 15’s, 16’s, 17’s and 20’s level. He made two appearances at the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2023.
After signing Imari said, “It feels great to get this opportunity and I’m ready to kick on. I spoke with the manager on Tuesday and it was a really positive talk from there I knew it was the right choice for me to come here.
I’m an energetic player who likes to get up and down the pitch and I will fight for every ball. I’m ready to go and I can’t wait to play in front of the Dundee fans.”
Samuels has joined up with his new teammates and will wear the number 12 for The Dee!
