Queens Preview

Dundee are in action for a second midweek in a row this Tuesday when they welcome Queen of the South to Dens.

Paul Hartley’s men stayed up top of the SPFL Championship with a win away to Dumbarton on Saturday and will be looking for all three points to ensure that is still the case come full time on Tuesday.

The manager has options with Peter MacDonald, Gavin Rae and Craig Beattie all playing their part from the bench at the Bet Butler stadium. There are injury doubts over Kevin McBride who had to leave the park and Kyle Benedictus who is doubtful with a back injury. That could open the door for Adam Cummins to play his first game for the club since his arrival from Motherwell on loan.

Queens are in excellent form with three wins and a draw in their last four. They are currently sat in the final play off place of 4th with Falkirk – only two points above them – now in their sights.

This will be the final meeting of the season between the sides. The season began way back in August with the teams meeting each other and despite Peter MacDonald opening the scoring, Queens dominated proceedings and the 4-3 final score – in favour of Queens – flattered Dundee.

The other two meetings have seen Dundee take maximum points. They needed a late Craig Beattie strike to do that in the last game at Dens and Ryan Conroy’s penalty was enough to give Dundee victory in Paul Hartley’s first away game in charge of the club six weeks ago.
